Cliff Newton - founder

Newton Newton Flags and Banners was formed in 1975 by Clifford Newton and wife Georgina following his lifelong interest in flag history, usage, protocol and etiquette.

Early processes were limited to simple design sewn and appliquéd flags. Initial development was hindered by their lack of business production and management skills. Encouraged by the village vicar, The Rev. Brian Newton (no relation) the founder successfully applied for a Sir Winston Churchill Memorial Trust Travelling Fellowship. Under the category 'The Creation Of A Small Business' he studied production methods, materials and techniques at 23 flag and banner manufacturers across 19 states of America.

In subsequent years, with the help of daughters Tracy and Selina, a highly creditable business reputation has been established within the industry, second to none, as makers of superior flags and banners produced to standards of grace and quality.

Cliff has recently written his first book, a collection of interesting experiences, funny stories, jokes, tales, poems and precious moments of life in, and associated with, HM Armed Forces. For further information click here.
