Historical/Heraldic/MasonicSir John Cornwall 1375-1443Sir John won the hand of Elizabeth, sister of King Henry IV and daughter of John of Gaunt through, it is said, his prowess at the tournament of York in 1400. Made Knight of the Garter in 1409, he fought at the Battle of Agincourt in 1415 and took part in the siege of Rouen which ended in the capture of the town by the English in 1419.
